Cassidy’s Eulogy (as told by mom)

My daughter (I don’t like the word “step” when it comes to my children), left this world just a week ago. She was twenty-five, and heroin took her away from us.

-we never intended to become the poster family for this issue, but here we are. Cassidy died of a Heroin overdose, this is our truth. We lived with this disease as a family for a very long time. We suffered, but not as much as Cassidy. For Cassidy this disease was terminal. She has now been released. The reach of Cassidy’s story is beyond our comprehension. As of this morning, over 40,000 people were “talking” about Cassidy Aspen Cochran on Facebook. Her obituary has been shared thousands of times by people from all over the country. Chris and I are getting messages and comments from 100’s of strangers every day, reaching out to comfort us and seeking comfort for their own situations. Local news stations are…
