“Pessimism leads to weakness, optimism to power.” – William James
How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood, How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood, How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood,
How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood,
How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood,
How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood,
How often did you experience a negative situation which ended up leading to one pessimistic thought after another, affecting your mood, ruining your entire day and even affecting the people you interact with?It happens to all of us, no matter how rich or happy you might be. Even the Dalai Lama is in a bad mood sometimes.Completely eliminating negative thoughts from your life is practically impossible, but you can reduce them significantly.
Once you manage to diminish these thoughts by only 10 to 20 percent, you will notice great improvements in your life.
More and more people will enjoy your company, you will be less affected by negative experiences and view them as learning processes and you will become more attractive to the opposite sex. These are just some of the amazing benefits you will reap by doing something as simple as changing your thoughts. In this post I will share 5 key tricks I have been successfully using over the years in order to brighten up your life too.
Make positive thinking a habit
If you’ve been focusing on the negative for most of your life, guess what you’re doing when you’re on autopilot?
Over the years you may have developed a habit of negative thinking.
To such an extent that you might even feel weird when you’re in a positive state of mind.Make an effort every day, I know you have a gazillion things to think about, but if you manage to actively focus on the good things in every situation, you will eventually make seeing the brighter side of life a habit and it will become a part of who you are.
Realize that reality is subjective
Positive people fully understand this concept. There are two types of people: The ones that go to a party thinking how nobody will like them and how much of a bad time they will have and the ones who assume the positive, knowing that they will have a great time and get along with people.
If you already expect a situation to be bad before you even experience it, I can assure you that the most probable outcome will be just that, a negative experience.
It all depends on how we see things. You create your own reality, make it awesome!
Find the positive in negative situations
Bad things happen to every human being without exceptions. Most people ignore the fact that even individuals who seem to be happy all the time also have some problems going on in their life. What differentiates these people from others is that they understand that you can extract something positive out of every bad life experience.Let’s say your boss complains about something you did wrong. Instead of getting all upset and letting it affect your mood, think of it as feedback. It is just natural to make mistakes, now you know exactly what to avoid the next time you work on a similar task.
Cut out negative people
I am sure you have that one friend who is always complaining about how bad his day was, how his girlfriend left him, how bad the weather is, basically about everything he sees and does.He may have been your friend for a long time, but if you really want to make changes and fill your life with positivity, you have to get rid of people like him. Surround yourself with positive people and let them transfer their positivity on to you.
Be grateful for what you have
Many people forget to be grateful. They buy a new car, only to get bored of it after a couple of months. Then it seems completely mundane to them and before you know it, they‘re already complaining about this and that and checking out the magazines for their next acquisition.Whenever you feel like you’re out of luck or you just can’t get what you want, focus on what you already have. Take a moment to look at yourself in the mirror and truly appreciate what you already have. Sometimes we get so hooked in what we desire that we completely forget how lucky we already are. These are the tricks that helped me maintain a positive attitude over the years. How do you manage to keep a smile on your face in tough times?
